What sort of teaching methods are used by the ILFU?
Teaching
is tailored to the individual with plenty of flexibility for people
on the move.
It is a method which:
• Responds to the needs of people who can’t, or don’t
wish to, follow a long and restrictive traditional academic path.
• Assists new residents to France in dealing with tradespeople, public
services and administration.
• Gives
students confidence in coping with different situations in their
daily lives.
• Provides connections and a point of reference for students in their
new life (cultural differences, traditions and nuances of the language)
• Provides students with independence through targeted, active and efficient
learning.
• Allows students to familiarise themselves with French literature.
•
Teaches “business” French for those who wish to start
a business in France
• Prepares students, if they desire, for the officially recognised diplomas
in French as a foreign language:
DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française)
DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française)
The closest examination
centre is at the Université Paul Valéry
in Monpellier.
See the Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques
(CIEP) website for full details of the DELF and DALF.
